Can You Travel to the Philippines?
Yes, it is possible to travel to the Philippines. However, there are entry requirements and guidelines in place. Vaccinated travelers have the easiest entry process and are not required to undergo quarantine or testing. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 24 hours before departure and will be subject to a second rapid antigen test upon arrival. All travelers, regardless of vaccination status, must register on the website etravel.gov.ph at least 72 hours prior to their trip. It is also important for travelers without visas, including U.S. citizens visiting for tourism, to have a valid return ticket and a passport with at least six months of validity from the date of arrival.
Testing and Vaccination Requirements to Enter the Philippines
To enter the Philippines, travelers are required to present proof of vaccination or negative test results. Proof of vaccination can be provided through various documents such as the World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis, VaxCertPH, national or state digital certificates from countries with reciprocal arrangements, or other acceptable forms of vaccination proof approved by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force).
If travelers choose to enter the Philippines through testing instead of vaccination, they must present test results from a test conducted and certified by a healthcare professional. It is important to note that remotely supervised tests are acceptable, but home tests will not be considered valid for entry purposes.
As of June 12, U.S. citizens returning from the Philippines to the United States are no longer required to provide a negative Covid-19 test for re-entry. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has lifted the previous mandate that required such testing or documentation of recovery.
However, it’s important to note that non-U.S. citizens or individuals holding immigrant visas still need to provide proof of vaccination in order to fly from the Philippines to the U.S.
